Faith, Friendship, and Service Together at Christ Church

Benevolence Committee
The Benevolence Committee at Christ Church serves as a compassionate lifeline for both members and the wider community, stepping in during times of unexpected hardship.
Whether facing the aftermath of a fire, the challenges of illness, or the burden of sudden bills, the committee offers practical support and heartfelt care. Rooted in Christ’s call to love and serve one another, this ministry ensures that no one walks alone in distress, embodying the church’s commitment to generosity, mercy, and neighborly kindness.

Pastor David's Soup Ministry
The Pastor’s Soup Ministry at Christ Church is a simple yet heartfelt way of sharing God’s love through hospitality. With joy and care, Pastor David prepares homemade vegetable soup and personally delivers it to church members, local fire departments, and neighbors in need of encouragement. Each bowl is more than a meal—it’s a gesture of comfort, gratitude, and connection, fostering feel-good relationships that strengthen the bonds of community and remind people they are cared for and valued.

Wesleyan Prayer Ministry
Wesleyan Prayer Ministries is a fellowship of women from area churches who gather each month to
lift up the needs of others in prayer.
They faithfully pray over requests sent in by individuals and families and then send cards to let each person know they were remembered before God.
This ministry offers both spiritual support and personal encouragement, creating a network of care that reminds people they are not alone and that their concerns are carried by a community of faith.

Card Ministry
At Christ Church, our Card Ministry is
a meaningful way we care for one another. Led with kindness and dedication by Carolyn Slaughter, this ministry sends handwritten cards to members throughout the year—celebrating birthdays, offering encouragement during illness, sharing sympathy in times of loss, and extending congratulations for life’s joyful moments. Each note is a reminder that no one walks alone and that our church family is always holding one another in prayer and love.
Foreign Missions
Healing body and soul: medical teams provide care while spreading the hope of Jesus.
Medical and Christian missions to
third-world countries, especially across South America, bring together teams of doctors, nurses, and faith leaders with a shared purpose: to care for both body and soul.
These missions provide essential medical services to communities that often lack access to healthcare, addressing urgent needs like illness, injury, and preventive care.
At the same time, they share the hope of the Gospel, offering encouragement and spiritual support to those who may not have heard the message of Jesus. By combining practical healing with the ministry of faith, these missions embody compassion in action—meeting physical needs while extending the love of Christ.

These mission trips are organized by Elena Puentes and Wilson Borosvskis.
